Dunno Making an Application Video for Design School....

If you live further than 800 kilometers (500 miles) from Toronto or you are not able to attend your interview in person, you may submit your portfolio for assessment. I suggest that if you are not able to attend you submit some additional written material to support your work. You might also consider making a short video of yourself and your work as an alternative . It is your responsibility to arrange for the return of your work. Any portfolios that have not been claimed by September 15th will be discarded.

This is what OCAD (Ontario School of Art and Design) has sent me. Any idea/suggestions? I have my portfolio home with me (The digital works and the material stuff)...

Discuss...

Serious Resume/Portfolio for art students and business professionals!

Hand written resume
Hardcopy portfolio
Digital Portfolio (cd/dvd)
Web Portfolio (web address w/portfolio as well as online resume)

This is for any new media, design, or internet savvy student/professional. I'd highly recommending having all 4 in your possession as it'll give you a stronger position for not being able to attend an inhouse interview.

I'm working on 2 of the 4

Digital Portfolio presented in flash (included in dvd is flash plugin)
Web portfolio in flash/html (2 ver) with resume and contact info.

HIGHLY SUGGESTED FOR SERIOUS ART STUDENTS OR DIGITAL PROFESSIONALS!

sorry i was thinking faster than i type and i meant to correct but didnt read

typed of course =) lols

in terms of ideas to direct your narration
i wouldn't know who YOU are, or what YOUR style is

but in preference, i'd go with some sort of visual intro
something that shows aspects of who you are, what you do, and how well you do it

tie in music and you'll have a decent production to present
i wouldn't opt for the sitting infront of a camera and do a 40min translation of your resume...

i don't know what your creative side is like, i for one don't have much (or atleast i lead myself to believe i don't) since im more on an analytical side of business - but i wouldn't say im oblivious to roygbiv

good luck, and usually the best forms of inspiration come from pieces of work presented by others...

museums, going to the movies, watching commericals on tv, video game intro's, magazine layouts yea you get the picture....

Thanks,Those are all good ideas. I want to keep it under 10 mins and I dont think I have the facilities available to do any serious editing, and I'd rather not. Ive done the intro which is like my introducing myself, then im going to showcase my work, then a third mini section with me summing it all up. Of course the showcase of my work will run the longest.

Thanks a lot...

Any more ideas?
