Nope, no solid plans to move to LA.
But that is something that _could_ happen later this year, though. A WHOLE lot of logistics would have to be worked out for this to happen between personal life, work life, etc etc. I love SF -- I love the people in SF. So much love here! I love the vibe events in SF brings. I love helping out Spundae SF as much as I am able to. I also love how LA has so much going on, although I don't think the vibe is as genuine overall. I have friends in both SF and in LA. 95% of my girlfriend's friends are in LA, so being down in LA would be a HUGE plus for her. I love the people I work with during my day job. Moving to LA would LARGELY be determined by some decisions that would be made in the workplace. The goal would of course to work for the same company and even team in the end, just from a different location. In all honesty, the workplace thing is probably the biggest factor that's way up in the air over whether I could go or not. It really depends on what the company I work for has in store for the future and whether those plans give me any opportunity from working down in LA. If not, then I'll probably be staying up here. While we are probably the leader in online video production in terms of technology, process, and sheer scale (we DO A LOT considering the resources we have, the big downfall is that a large part of what we do is a proprietary process and there's really not many other companies out there who do the same thing to the scale we do and thus would be difficult for me to find a position at a company that would be highly interested in my skills. My skills are very broad (I do technology research, equipment research and buying decisions, camera shoots, editing, lighting post production, etc etc...like an all-in-one dude), while most companies hire video production crews based on specific skills: a camera man, an editor, a lighting guy, etc etc. Because of how we are setup, I would not consider myself a high-end bonafied expert in any one particular area...I just have good (6 years) experience in all the areas we work in....and still learning in a lot of those areas as we continue to build up our team, production qualities, and expand what we do. Like lately, I've been focused in high-definition content.
