Kent brough this thread to my attention. I'm surprized that you didn't really lay out exactly what you wanted to do in more detail and kinda just "winged it".
I did a little digging and I the found the original thread post at DI that I posted to start recruiting for a similiar idea. Nothing is as it as it seems and your no better then the talented people you can bring on board. I was lucky enough, and still am lucky, to have a great bunch of people on my staff.
Here is my original post @ DI in May of 2004.
-----------------------
Hello everyone. Let me introduce myself, my name is Jon M and I live in NJ, USA. The reason for this post is that I want to start something along the lines of a Trance/Techno review website. I’m looking for people to help me make this happen and I’m hoping a few will come out from the crowd to volunteer their efforts to create something new.
I would like to say that I hope no one takes this as some sort of spam; I like to listen to DI.FM all the time and I’m a big fan of Trance in general, obviously.
My ideas runs along the lines of writing reviews about new releases in trance all over the world and log them in an archive which can be searched by our visitors later. In doing so we will be able to give our viewers a wealth of information about artists, songs, and some history of this kind of music.
I would also like to provide News about special events around the world and on the world wide web, such as a guest appearance by a big shot DJ on DI.FM, or something as DJ Dean releasing another installment of his popular Tunnel Trance Force albums.
I would like to establish that I currently own the domain www.***************** and am willing to fund the hosting payments each month. As this website builds up traffic and generates revenue, I have a few plans on that, staff will get some money on a first come first serve basis. Eventually I would like to turn this endeavor into a small internet business if possible.
As of right now these are the kind of people I am looking for:
Writers - Clever with words and are able to express a song without words into words.
News Men/Women - Able to come by and report special events, album releases, and any other type of news that may be of interest to the Trance community in a concise manner.
Webmasters - Able to construct a website that is able to suit the needs of our visitors and staff. Also able to archive any articles in an organized fashion. Must work well with Graphic Artists.
Graphic Artists - Use your imagination to create images of TranceCritic and any other type of "department" of the TranceCritic website. Must work well with Webmasters.
So far this is what I can think of, if anyone has any input then please by all means, express yourself.
I'm hoping at least a few people are willing to go on this journey and possibly create something that will push the limits of this music in time. Anyone interested please e-mail me at [email protected] and type TranceCritic in the subject line.
Thank you for your time,
Jon M

Ah man, just re-reading that is bringing back memories and also makes me appreciate how far i've come, personally, in that time. As a whole we've also made some great strides to do what we originally set out to do. To be honest we still haven't made much money so noone has been "compensated". Jon, not me but the guy who started this post, I would rethink about starting from scratch in trying to create yet another EDM related website. The market is saturated as it is and Ishkur was right when he said you would not survive 2 years. I thought he was being generious. I'm not downplaying that you have the skill to make it happen, i'm just saying that with no money and no talented staff on board it is going to be extremely difficult to be successful.
I guess I can type up a little something on how things have changed over the last 2 years or so. Reviews are still our bread and butter, but now we are looking into getting into other areas besides solely reviews. In this day and age a website will have a hard time surviving if it just did one thing, even one thing very well. Therefore you can expect TranceCritic.com to start to shift over into articles, news, artist interviews, and a few other tricks that i'm not going to devulge into at this time.
One thing i've learned is that things never ever work out how you want them to. Plans always get fucked up and people try to fuck you. Theres a lot of fucking going on so make sure you can handle it, no not that kind of fucking.
If your interested I do have a proposal for you. You seem to have entrepreneurial tendencies about you, and I like that. As strange as it may seem you need more then just one entrepreneur in a company, or in our case a small website, to keep things fresh and keep certain segments in order. You said you specifically are looking into news, I am looking for a Lead News Editor, seems like a good match. Let me list some of the responsabilities of the position for you to understand whats required.
Management.
Your going to have to be able to manage a small team of reports to cover a series of news topics. You may also have to work with other 'departments', like the writing team for example, or maybe you'll need a graphic from the web team to compliment one of the articles. You are also responsable for recruiting your own team members.
Content.
Obviously your going to need to know what your talking about. You can't have the lead news guy going on and on about something that he does not know anything about. You are also going to want to be able to over see the submissions of other reporters and make sure their content is legit.
Being able to conduct team meetings and grow your team is essential to the long term development of the website as a whole. Also being able to provide different types of content will throw in the variety needed to be a pleasent place to get your EDM news.
Thats just a quick 1-2-3 of what it takes, I dont want to waste my time going into more detail if your not at all interested anyway. Well, i've been rambling but I wish you the best of luck in whatever path you decide to take.
-Jon
