duh... getting crazy!!!

Hi!

got a question about mixing
my prob is to put the track which im gonna mix into the same volume high as the other one

@ friends i got something i can c if its to low or to high
but @ my mixer i only c the track which is running

over the headphones i allmost cant sett the tracks on same volume high


i allready tryed to sett the volume high when both are running trough the boxes
at start the beat is to low
but when mellow dee is comming its to high then
i dont understand what im doing wrong
@ friends it allways works fine
and the mixer is not bad
a CD in switzerland costs 30.-
and it was 500.-
allmost the same as on my fav club

getting crazy
i really cant do it

maybe can someone help me out here ??
that would b very nice!

Your best bet is cuing one in the headphones and setting the volume so it sounds the same as the live track. Since it won't be perfect, as you are mixing if you notice one being too loud or too quiet just tweak the gain a bit as you are mixing.

ye but sucks to

because if its abit to loud u hear it if u record a tape.. then its to much in the red lights
if its to low it works.. but to high is shite

but i can't understand
i watched the DJs once on the club
they never used that button on the mix
it was allways on same loudness
mhhhhhh

Alot of DJ's at clubs just blast everything deep into the red on the mixer and rely on the club system's compressor/limiter to keep things in check (at least that's the way it seems to me, though it really just distorts the sound if anything.

If you still can't get your levels quite right try mixing without the x-fader, and use only the channel faders. That way you will hear the loudness over your speakers as you bring something in, and can just not raise the volume as high.
