rack space & power conditionner

I've got some extra cash to spend on a decently adequate power conditionner for my home DJ setup. I need to isolate the power for the audio gear from the lights in my room which plug into powerbars that don't quite get rid of the pops when I switch lights on/off.

I noticed Furmann makes the M8 model that looks rather great, however saw another one that has space between the AC plugs to accomodate wallwart power supplies... don't know which one it was now though.

I'm also seeking a rack for my amp, EQ, power conditionner, etc.
I don't need it to be taller than 2 feet.
IS it better to make one myself out of wood? or get a metal one that won't deteriorate with constant moving of gear from it?
Where would I get one? I'd assume the sound studio shops... PSSL, djmart, etc.
