X-Cabs is back with more teched-out tuneage. ’Sierra’ has the feel of classic X-Cabs tracks like ‘Infectious’ & ‘Cut to Zero’ but suped up for the new millennium. The decidedly funky and energetic groove is washed with sparkling leads, subtle lines and one nasty rasping hook. The Chris Cowie mix features another choice selection of drums, gritty acidlines and chords. And to add even more value to the package is, ‘Terratec,’ a heavy relentless breakbeat featuring stretching leads, crunchy effects and more analog madness to sear that dancefloor.

Yup, Cowie delivered again..
Both Sierra and Terratec sound pretty good, Sierra has that distinctive Hook-like sound which was doing pretty well a few years ago, and Terratec is a pretty fresh look on that same sound with its breakbeat structure and ravelike synthline..
Only thing slightly disappointing is the Cowie remix of Sierra, it just does not reach the same level of quality as the other tracks on this release.
Too bad it does not seem to be released on 12". Otherwise I might have picked it up as I plan on buying some more trance records.

Could it be that some other label releases it as a 12"?
like basd says, cowie deliveres asusual, all tracks are quality, Sierra provides a rougher edge and Terratec is ravetastic. Chris Cowies remix of Sierra reminds is a good version but lacks something special, but i still like it. reminds me a to a certain degree of haak's remix of fractal structure's Lost sequence.
