Music is as universal to people as breathing. We've probably been at it since before we even started talking. Immaging two cavemen smashing away at a peace of flint to make a spearhead. It wouldn't take long for them to learn te synchronise the sound. And there you have it, the words first percussive band.
Music has survived wars, famines, the plague and many other things and has evolved with man across many cultures. Dance music is just the next step in the evolutionary chain. My guess is that it will probably be with us untill we are extinced.

hey mister darwin - nice way to get a review i notice some of the older members' posts are being ignored a bit....
onto review..
you have an almost oldschool sound. but then your little effects keep it up to date.
i think overall the sound is a bit dry. more verb needed here and there. just to make it a bit bigger sounding. i know its overdone but maybe employ something like the fred baker style 'techno snare' and some more percs to build some more drive. cut out the kick more, like leave four beats out now and then. and lower the comp on the kick aswell. needs a bit more power imo.
mirror that bassline and then cut all the lows on the mirrored one. then add some reverb. maybe thats all the extra verb the track will need...
nice clean work. keep it up!

I dont think the sound is to dry. honestly I really enjoyed this!
so many new sounds I nearly have heard before :P the melodie is very typical.
the sounding lead fx/303 is abit high imo!

Ok, that's two guys wanting to hear more percs, so ill do it :P Percs arent's my strong point but ill try.
If anybody can guess where the main melody is ripped from ill give them the project files for this mix.
I can't put the bass on the 303 up, it's a very fragile mix and any changes on the 303 interfere with other elements too much. Ill give it a shot though.
Thanks Martin, always good to see my name in amongst millionairs sitting here in my cramped room thumping away. Ill do my best with the pers for you.

Well, I've been listening to your updated track...
That main synth is nicely done and combine great with the soft stringsynth in the background. Also the deep sounds appeal to me
I still think the rhythm is a bit too thin, especially the hi-hats. Maybe some effects on the rhythm would make a beginning, it's then up to you what else to add to make it more interesting.
Nicely done so far

The style is very oldschool, but the sounds are minty fresh. This is the kind of stuff we need more of.
The acid stabs are a bit loud in the mix.
Overally, though, the track is kinda quiet. Could do with some mastering, IMO.
