YEa, but don't you think those tracks are just being made JUST for those radio shows, because they know thats the sound they look for and then do the productions based on that. It seems like it because the styles of the oldschoolers that comeback with some tune never sounds quality and is always cookie cutter /bad ...with a hint of MC prog, or some crap cheese vocal like the Max Graham - Gone |
Honestly, I have no idea, but I do think the radio shows have an influence on the productions in some respect, yes. The extent of this I would be interested in knowing, not to mention I'd also like to understand a bit more what some of the intentions and motivations are for making this type of sound, or why producers are suddenly switching their original style to seemingly "accomodate" this new and very amateurish sound. I think that getting increased recognition, quite possibly to different people (the pop music crowd?), or a possible cash-grab are involved as well.
This is one question I really, really wish would have been asked of Andy Moor in the interview that was posted on here not too long ago. I am dying to know what his response to this would be, considering his older work on the Baroque and Method labels are among some of my favorites in the progressive house area and are very well done, while his newer stuff (aka: Halcyon) is, well, terribly wasted potential from a more capable producer as far as I'm concerned.
