Chill Out vs Selected Ambient Works 1

Sorry for the retarded comparison.

I just wanted to know which you think is the better legendary chillout album.

Well?

The only track that really touches me on SAW is Xtal. The rest feels a bit like... err... filler?

'Filler'
What do you mean by filler really? Is it like a track that is so pointless that it only works as a track to... fill out?

I mean "track that's only there to make it a full-length album".

Assuming Full Length is what it sounds to be, I was pretty much right then?

Yes.

Let's say artist has 5 tracks, of, say 45 minutes total.

He needs the album to be 50 minutes.

So he makes a shitty generic track to add 5 minutes.

I see. Thanks!

We should make a 'term'-thread to make a list of terms/words that is associated with EDM in general, for all the newbies, like me.

IMO there are much better chillout albums than either of these, such as Lifeforms, Music Has The Right To Children, 76.14, Music For Airports, A Strangely Isolated Place, The Space Between Us and Airdrawndagger.

I agree on Lifeforms...

But mentioning Lifeforms in the same sentence as the merely decent Airdrawndagger?
