filter mix

can i get a list of mixers that allow a filter mix, i.e. high pass and low pass filters on independent channels.

all i got now is the djm-800 and xone 92 (and above).

thanks.

edit: oh and can a lucky one with a xone 92 post an example of a mix utilizing this technique; i appreciate it.

I always thought this was a normal thing in all mixers with filters...

Re: Re: filter mix

Some only let you filter either the master or one channel only... The xone 92 has two filters for application to any two channels.

Oh and it allows you to select a channel (1 at a time) OR the master channel.

nice, thanks man. now with the 62 you can just filter one channel or the master right? are you putting a high pass filter on the incomming channel, then raising the cutoff as you lower the bass (eq) in the outgoing track?

You can do either one or two channels. However, if you choose to filter two channels simultaneously, they both have to be set to the same X-Fader, and the same exact filter will apply to them. ie, I couldn't use a LPF on one channel and a HPF on the other.

As far as during the transitions, if I use the HPF filter then I will start out with the low EQ on the incoming channel at about 9 o'clock, and the mid 1 & 2 EQs at the same. I'll gradually fade the mid 1 in first, then mid 2, keeping the filter at about 1 to 2 o'clock.

Gradually, then, I will begin lowering the Low EQ on the outgoing track as I bring in the Low on the incoming track, as well as lowering the depth of the HPF.

It takes some playing around to finally find a way to use the filter during transitions that you're comfortable with. And I'm not sure if my description made any sense or not.

very hot.

seems u can due some nice things with a single filter, though the independent filters seems like its worth the upgrade to a 92 verse the 62.

Could also get two vf-1r (for a mixer without filters) and connect directly to decks, but then that wont help your cd players, unless of course they have biult in filters. so many options, so little money.
