ya i'm still having trouble putting together rythym but im getting a little better at it. If you could tell me what tone shifting and percs are theat'd help a lot _YES IM AN UBER NOOB_

if your using fruity loops ou could just right click a sampling/synth wrapper and press piano roll wich is the first option in the menu.
percs are percussion, drums of all kinds, shakers hat's snares claps etc.. all that.
if you listen to some tunes youll notice the main leads will often switch notes to make is sounds brighter or darker.
but the main thing you need to learn is structurizing i think.. there is a tutorial thread in the production area.. check it out
