i was throwin down a mid-day mix from 12-2pm at the station and a few minutes into the first song i accidentally bumped my headphones and they fell to the ground. one of the ear cups broke off. =(. i struggled through the first hour with my broken headphones...finally i found duct tape and was able to fix them just in time for the 2nd hour and was able to redeem myself mixing/programming wise. my headphones were the pioneer 1000 whatevers...should i get these same ones? or what others do you recommend? thanks.

Sorry to hear about your headphones. For replacements, try the Technics RPDJ-1200, my pioneers are sitting there collecting dust now.

I read all 62 pages of the Headphone Thread and I ended up getting the Senn 280 pro's. They sound pretty damn fine. $92 at Guitar Center.

Well I know aot of people who swea by the Sony's. They're pretty much the lightest headphones I've found for DJing and they sound great. Might not be as flexible as the Pio's or Techs, but I think they work fine...at least for me.

I'm not sure about that model, but the Sony MDR-V700 has a long history of breaking near the swivel of the ear cups, which happened to mine as well.

Stay clear away from that model if you're planning to get sony's.

Thats a completely different model. The 700s are absolute crap.

The 7506 are proffesional Studio Monitor headphones which also happen to be great for DJing.
