Ayudame!!! pt. 2

For my Spanish Lit. 209 final I'm required to choose, present and analyze a poem. Does La Rayuela seem too "Chicken soup for the ... " as far as its general message? What I'm really looking for are any other options from Spanish or Latin American poets as this subject is foreign to me. If anyone could post some unique, memorable work(keeping in mind it's a 209 class) it would be greatly appreciated... I don't know where or who to start with and wanted to stumble upon someone besides the Neruda & Lorca. Thanks in advance.

Here are some good poets:
-Alfonsina Storni
-Octavio Paz
-Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz
-Rubén Darío
-Rosario Castellanos
-Delmira Agustini
-Gertrudis Gómez de Avellanada

There are many other poets. I can't find a decent link for any of them. What exactly are you interested in presenting? It seems to me like you are a bit lost. Any particular theme? How long is the presentation?

La Rayuela is a good option though. I'm not a big fan of Cortazar. His novel, with the same name as the poem, is a good read but confusing.

What exactly is Spanish Spanish Lit. 209?
Maybe you want to check out the salvadoran poet Alfredo Espino, he mostly wrote about nature and simple life.

I've attempted it! but had to put it down not even 50 some pages in. Blow Up and his other short stories are more my pace Thanks for the links, I'll be looking into them the next couple weeks. As far as the presentation goes, there are only 6 of us in the class. It's very informal and all is in open range. It needs to be a 10 min presentation which we speak of the symbolism, meaning, methaphors, theme, etc. The poem can be of any length also. Oh and 209 is Intro to Lit. Thanks again Sensorium and i'll add Alfredo Espino to the list.

Nachos don't make me smack those eyelashes off your gawd forsaken face I'm not devaluing any of Neruda's work. I was just wanting to hunt around for someone a bit more obscure, you know, the po'!
