A track is not necessarily progressive just because the song is going at a slow rate. To quote myself from another thread:
“If you have ever analyzed a bunch of trance tracks there appears to be a certain pattern present in most of that music. The layout, the melody, optional breakdown, climax, and elements that appear during regular intervals of a track. I call this a formula or a list of guidelines that most producers follow to achieve the sound we call trance. When those rules are slightly bent or broken it starts to take on another form known to many as progressive trance. If done correctly a track can sound ahead of it's time, revolutionary, or just plain great.”
That’s what progressive is in a nutshell. It has nothing to do with the speed of a track. Now let’s go back to your track. You didn’t manage to pull off the beat used in this track. It sounds very eighties-ish or dated. Try updating that or reworking it somehow. Also stay away from the repetitiveness present throughout your whole track because the lack of any variation could really bore your listener. As far as your melody is concerned it could use a facelift so fix that as well and as an experiment loop your bongos/drums (whatever they’re called) and tone them down a little volume-wise because they stand out too much. Other than that there’s not much else I can say except good luck and happy producing!
