The School of Athens
A pretty famous 16th century painting by Raphael. Click for giant version:
I knew that a few of the people in it were philosophers (Plato in the upper middle, most prominently), but what I didn't know before today is that almost every person in the picture is a philosopher or scientist of some sort (probably 80 - 90% of them). There are also a few famous politicians / military men like Alcibiades and Alexander.
Many of these people weren't contemporary with one another, of course, so the painting is a sort of "hall of fame" of Greek thought. Raphael put himself in the picture, too. He's at the bottom, far right, just to the left of the guy wearing the white hat.
