wow
Wow, how can I forget Lawler!
LAWLER
LAWLER
LAWLER
sorry Lawler...
I find that ever since I discovered this beat, I havent been able to listen to music the same way. Nothing is pounding enough for me, nothing makes me feel like good tribal does. I am sure you can relate.
Right now, I am going CRAZY about the new Rauhofer I LOVE NEW-YORK. From the second I put that CD in, I just couldnt believe my ears ... track after track of raw hard pouding. I was chatting it up with Vibe in New York last week and he told me that the best tribal comes from the simple beats. Totally what that CD is all about, very simple hard beats. Check it out.
Calderone is my favorate DJ. Something about his sets, up, down, left, right ... you never get bored, always something coming in. He has this way of taking away the base without you even noticing, then pounding it down when you least expect it.
In conclusion, in the past year, I have traded Happy Vicals for Dark and harder beats, bubbly trance for dirtier tribal house- I guess I am getting sinical with age.
Marcus, we need to chat one of these days.

I adore old Lawler and even some older Sander had some tribal beats in it. I like it alot but I dunno about Tenaglia's 16-hour journey sets at Stereo. If the entire night is tribal, I'm so-so-ish on that...Every now and then throughout a night is sexy tho.

Afterhours is a state of mind, but significantly, it's more a state of 'I don't mind'. A determined continuation, contentment and relief that 'it ain't over yet!' An injection of music into attitude and occasion which creates an emotional wave forth that isolates globally, a ringing harmonic, a signal to a like-minded collective that 'we are only us'.
