Best way to create trance/house music?

Well, I hope thats what its called. Sorry for the lame questions, but I am new to all this. I just got this album by Cascada and I love what DJ Manian does, reminds me of Anabolic Frolic. Just wondering what the best way to create music like that was. A studio program like Sonar or Project5 or some kind of DJ mixer? Also, if anyone can tell me what those cool sound effects are in that kind of music, it would be cool. The ones that sound like a siren in different pitches followed by the quick snare drum rolls before the beat comes back in. How is that sound created? A synthesizer of some kind or a machine?

Thanks!

Ya, I must have missed the part where it explains what is better, a mixer or a program like Project5. I must have also missed where it talked about the other questions I ask too...if you can show me wehere that is, that would be great.

Actually, in your combined ignorance, you came up with a good point . Hardware vs software should be in the FAQ.

There are threads on it, but they're hard to find, and they're just random comments devoid of any sensible conclusions.

Software is cheaper, easier, and you can download demos of it so you know which one is better for you in the end.

IMHO, while hardware sounds better most of the time, with a good softsynth you have more control with less effort and can get the sound you want faster with little physical work (ie actually patching synths and effects modules together etc).

As for your other question:

"...the ones that sound like a siren in different pitches followed by the quick snare drum rolls before the beat comes back in."

LOL. I, don't fcuking know.

A synth?

And echosys, you're going to have an aneurism.

Wanna fight me ****? RARRR

Thread starter: theses types of questions have been asked a million times. "Search" in combination with the FAQ will give you a good answer. But see now, youve started this, its going to get to 20 pages with tards replying stating that their sequencer is the best and everything else is shit. THEN the PC vs. Mac debate will start. THEN everyones going to start flaming eeachother. THEN inevitably it will get to hardware vs. software and all hell will break loose.

You have no idea what you have started.

Also asking how to make a particular sound without saying the exact source or providing a sample is ridiculous, at least admit that much.

Hardware sounds better than software.

Macs are far superior to PCs.

I don't use FruityLoops because it's not professional enough. And the sound quality is $#!7. Anyone who says different is obviosly a newb.

Live, eat, drink, breathe Reason. And Pro Tulz.

Only idiots use Cubase because they can't afford Reason. Just pirate it, idiots.

Midi is a thing of the past. Noone uses it.

Ban ALL noobs.

Supersaws are cheeze.

Cheeze cheese chease, cheyze, cheeze, cheese cheaze cheeeeeeeze cheezy poofs chezeee, cheese chease chesa s ehseah cheese chease cheaze.

Tiesto.

Yeah, I'm noticing this pattern. Mods should just close unproductive threads, simple as that. No more bitching.

I see this pattern in every forum I frequent. Obviously it's a different subject in each forum, but there are always one or two things.

It's hillarious too, because the veteran posters all have the same reaction, no matter what the theme of the forum is.
