[Melodic Trance] Thee-O & DJ Wires - Lost & Found (192kpbs full track)

Check it out...let us know what you think...starts getting very trancey at the build. It has that hands in the air feeling. Not something that I would normally play or produce but I am happy with it. Reminds me of what I spun back in 98. This is what happens when I have a outside influence (DJ Wires) in the studio with me. Hope you enjoy.

Please share any thoughts.

Thee-O & DJ Wires - "Lost & Found"

Yo your clap sounds too dry. Definitely need to add some reverb onto it. I'll give a better review later because I'm somewhat in the middle of things, but I wanted to bump the thread.

I change my mind. It all sounds pretty dry. Add some more effects in there. Use some stereo separation. Use my phasers or flangers to add some depth.

I will take a look to add some more effects on certain elements of it.

K listening.

/me listens to Thee-O & Wires - Lost & Found [00:07 of 07:46m/192Kbps/44KHz]

I actually like the "dry" kick sound a lot. BUT if you want to go the dry kick route, I would add a little distortion to it.

How brutally did you limit this at the end of the mix. My ears just might be tired at the end of the day, but it sounds like you might have been a bit overboard with limiting. Everything sounds really quashed.

I am digging your melody so far. 1.27 Also your bassline is just classic. Added some congas. Mmm. Congas. Panned left. Interesting. They have a lot of reverb on them compared to a lot of the other elements in your track.

I'll just say again. In a mix. Either go with lots of wet (delays and reverb galore) or go very dry (like in a lot of techno, TONS of stuff going on, but very dry sometimes, granted that's an opinion.)

2.58 K thought your bassline was cool. But it's getting a bit repetative. Even for classic '98 standards. I want more progression with the bassline along with your melody.

3.31 Promising. I really do you like your melodic progression. This sounds super old school. I really like this a lot. Strange thing is, I'm working on a "classic" sounding track myself at the moment.

4.45 quite the snare roll! Good man. This is good. Just like I wanted, progressing that bassline!

This is really well done mate! Digging that old piano/bell lead that goes up and down.

5.19 Really great man. I would love to spin this in a set when you get a completed version. Please let me know when you have a new version done.

If you'd like me to master it, I would be happy to get some practice. I've been doing a lot of mastering recently. PM or something. Just a thought.

Keep it up man.

---Adam

edit: after listening to the whole track, i realized your limiting and mastering wasn't that harsh, it was good, and your mixing was good too.

I think the bassline stays repetitive too long. I love the old school techno. All the elements sound great together. Really great tune. It just lacks the proper mastering. The mix overall is too limited, but I really love the ideas and overall structure. Cheers mate.

I really like the dry sounds here. It throws the track into an interesting contrast, and gives it a strangely harder feel.

Nice zappy synth.

The bongos seem kinda out of place. Work on how your mixing them.

I think the snare roll was a little unnecessary, and a bit too loud.

You could do with a pad, methinks, to sort of fill the image out.

Pretty good track. I liked the old school feel to everything.

I agree with the bongos...gotta fit that in the mix better. Thank you
