WOW , what can I say, amazing night
First of all that whole time thing that the Commodore released was totally off. The opening DJ, Kevin Shiu was supposed to open at 9pm but I got there at about 8:40 and he was already spinning. The show was supposed to end at midnight , but the night ended at 2am and Tiesto started spinning at 11:20pm. The line-up outside was pretty long but the line moved really fast. I was only in the line for 15 minutes max.
Me and my friend got our drinks and headed for the dance floor. We listened to Kevin Shiu till 11:20, he was pretty good for the first hour or so and then I just got a little impatient hoping Tiesto will finally come on. I though he'd start spinning at 10pm, but I guess not. Kevin Shiu dropped a few tracks I heard Sasha drop earlier this year and at about 10:30 I'm certain he played some remix of "Helsinki Scorchin".
Some guy (I think his assistant or a really good friend) dropped the first track, "LAX" by Pink Elephant, and then Tiesto came up on stage with this huge smile of his face. He then dropped "Something is Wrong" by Alex Stealthy and right after Hi-Jack by Smith and Pledger pres. Aspekt. Those were the first three tracks in order but after that I totally lost him. He spun a couple of more tracks from his ISOS5 CD but not a whole lot more. I also heard People Will Go(Steve Forte Rio Remix) by JES, Super8 + DJ Tab - Helsinke Scorchin', and Tom Cloud - Told you So, and just a few others that I can't ID right now. He played a lot of stuff I've never really heard him play yet, mostly really hard tech-trance house stuff and I heard a few female vocal tracks at the end.
The first hour was okay but he pick up after that. The highlight of the night was when he dropped "Flight 643". The icing of the cake was once he dropped the track, his assistant or buddy was on the stage to the right. He say me holding my copy of ISOS5 with my black felt marker. I yelled to get his attention and I asked if he could get Tiesto to sign it for me. He grabbed it out of my hands and brought it over for Tiesto to sign. I don't know if anyone say but he was behind the right speaker talking to his buddy while he signed my CD. His buddy then came over and gave back my CD with his signature. What an amazing night and I continued dancing and screaming my head off to the greatest track he dropped that night. The crowd went through the roof with "Flight 643".
Amazing night, and after his set he came near the crowd on stage to sign some things and sake some hands, but a couple guys got on stage and ruined things so they took Tiesto back stage and called the night to an end for saftey reasons, I guess. Tiesto was having a good time, great crowd interaction and he seemed really nice. The night got really crazy, a lot of people climbed on stage and this one guy wanted to get his headphones signed. Agian Tiesto handled things pretty well, I guess the champagne he was drinking of the side helped.
