thinking about backpacking / biking through europe
anyone else ever done this?
thinking, netherlands, france, spain, italy, germany, finishing in the UK for homelands i'm thinking i'd need a good 5 or 6k plus airfare for it. but might be able to courier the airfare for cheaper prices.
might be able to meet up and party with other TAs - just a thought
i need to do something drastic. it's either this or open a club - which i have the leads to do as well - right here in pittsburgh.
d00d u have a great idea i would join u on the whole journey... but im only 15... i wish i could do that u music would be the shit and the club would kick ass... and the land would would be amazing...

Yeah me and my mates want to do something like this around this time next year.
I've spoken to one of my mates from uni who did it after finishing school last year: he went on some package tour or something for three months, which is good in that it's cheaper and it's easy to get around everywhere, but, of course, you're kinda bound to travelling with the rest of the group which means you may not get the opportunity to see everything you want to. It cost him about $AU 9,000 ($US 4,500ish) for the three months, and that was without making any effort to cut back on costs (it's kinda hard not to splurge when you've got your dads credit card ).
But yeah. The second I've got the cash I'm gonna do Europe and do it hard I think.

i did the backpack through Europe thing in the Summer of 2000. I did it with my sisters and two friends. Spent just under $2000 and spent 6 weeks over there... hit everything from england to holland, denmark, germany, austria, italy, switzerland, france, and back to england... Stayed in hostels and used a Eurail pass to get around between countries.
Took a LOT of pictures and saw a lot, i'm actually working on putting up the documentary on the web.
Its a lot of fun and i would highly recommend doing it.
