Hey does anyone know how the club industry works? How do promoters attract people, spread the word, and make sure the crowd has a great time?
Say I want to open a new trance club, what are some things that need to be considered (e.g. location, bars, parking, security, music of course)? What makes a great club, or a great party?

unless u have serious cash with serious credit and investors you can't open a club.
It's a crappy business i bet....i couldnt even imagine the insurance costs.

What if I want to start a venue? with my DJs and music
And besides, why is it so difficult to open a small club? like a hole in the wall first, then it can grow in size as money starts pouring in...

If it were only that easy.
You're gonna need to know a lot of cops and city officials, especially in NYC.
Respect your clients.
Most places fall victim to their own success.

its all about who you know.... if you own a club, you better know politicians and police officers..... if youre a promoter, you better be a networking genius..... opening a place, no matter HOW small, you need to spend thousands upon thousands for licenses, everything from licenses to have people be able to dance, to common sense drinking permits

Usa club scene is very fickle. One day your in, the next day you wont even be a thought in there heads. To run a club right is stressful and not fun. You would devote everything, all of your resources just for maybe a handful of people to show up. On top of this you must maintain strict coded sanctions on underage drinking, drugs and other miscellaneous things. The club scene nowadays is so done. Its become standardized everywhere. You rarely see anything different. Just put on your diesel jeans, g-star shit, RayBan aviators and enjoy the night without having to worry about shit. Running the show is only meant for a handful of people in this world.

lol my thoughts exactly.. it's hard in nyc bc on every street corner there is a bar and every other street there is a lounge / small chillout. The competition is just mindblowing.. youre better off purchasing a franchise or something if thats really your thing..

i think it would be easier if you started your own parties at some already established venue.
