I did al lot of hearing and research, now I am planning to buy the Mackie HR 624 both for €1050. For that price range, do you guys think that's the price for a good monitor? is there any better for that price range?? No more then €1200 please

Dynaudio > Mackie any day of the week... You can get into Genelec around that kind of money too..

Don't get me wrong, the Mackies are good (and much much better than the Meh-Ringer "Un-truths), but Dynaudio have i going on.

You may even be able o strech to a small set of ADAMs for that cash. They're something else oo. :-)

As ever with speakers, YMMV and try and get somewhere that will take them back so you can listn in your own environment. There is much more to speakers & quality than just the speakers themselves. See many threads on this..

I've read al lot of threads here on tranceaddict, and other forums, but TA rules btw. its hard to make a choice, and a good one too. read many reviews (SOS is good) but mean!! for my part, its al lot of money. I want to spend it right, the best to get for that money

Its manly for techno/trance and some pop for my friends.

thanks people

Monitors

Hey there!

I personally would get the dynaudio bm5a in that price range. I like the way they sound. Friend of my has them, and they are really nice. I personally have Dynaudio BM6A's and I chose them from mackie hr 624, 824, genelec 8040's and some other models. But It's all a matter of taste. Listen to them all and get what you like. I have a fiend who sold his mackies hr624's recently, and got dynaudios as well. I quote him "when i listen to your monitors (dynaudio bm6a's) and go back home my mackies sound so mettalic" Well that's his opinion. Anyways, enjoy monitor buying, and make sure that you can return them, in case you don't like them

Hmm that sounds a bit steep for the HR624s. I paid $1200 US dollars for a pair of the HR824s brand new at Guitar Center here in the states.

I've sampled many monitors myself and found the HR series to hold up across musical genres. I do more than just EDM, and though the Mackies may seem a bit bright at first, try listening to different genres. I think you'll be very pleased.

Definately. I wish I could emphasize with a better word how much I agree.

The 824s are fantastic, we have a few pairs at the Art Institute of Seattle, and personally across all the musical genres they sound the best.

Granted, it's all about taste. But I would definately go for a pair of 824s. Mackie may not be all what they're cracked up to be in the rest of the pro-audio-gear world. But as far as speakers. They have it down. Proud that they're a local company over here.

HOWEVER. That being said, the Dynaudio's are great too, heard a few in the store, but I would still go for the 824s if I had the dough. (settled because of budjet on the Alesis M1Mk2s with the sock-modification, lol).

Have fun shopping though!
