The night started out very well. Me, my girlfriend and two buddies cruised up a little early to get some drinks at a bar before going in. I got the guestlist tickets at 10:30 and we proceeded to the security line. We made it through to the ID check and we all got in except for my girl. Man, you guys were right..they can pick out an ID that's not you dam fast. My girl was using one of her friends ID's that was legit and real but it just didn't fly with the bouncer. He triple checked her and said "nope". So that was the very first buzzkill of the night. We stepped out of line and talked about what we were going to do.

She called her brother that was in LA and he came to chill with her for a little bit while we went inside. We got inside at the middle of Kristina's set and it was beautiful. Her set was bangin and had us jumping! I surely hoped that I hadn't missed her drop her and Boyer's remix of CQ and I hadn't yet! She dropped it at the closing moments of her set and it absolutely fucking rocked! I'm really diggin that track, such a hard juicy bassline!

Kristina came off and Johan setup. The last time I saw Johan was @ Heaven last spring and I loved it! Johan ripped it up last night! So much energy in his tracks and his whole set. He dropped so many dam good tracks in a row, I couldn't find myself settling down. We stayed in there till just about 1:50 and his set was nearing or so I hope so. I was worried and felt like shit with my girl just sitting out with her brother in the car so I wanted to leave. I went out every 30 minutes to see how she was doing and she felt real horrible because she thought she ruined our night.

I'm truly sorry I couldn't stay for your set Fei-Fei, I really wanted to be there for the whole thing and I hear that it was an awesome set with nice nice basslines!

I'll write more later but last night was so much fun with Johan back in LA!!!!

I have to agree that Kristina laid down a phat set last night, but when doesn't she? Johan also dropped a lot of great tracks! The energy of the crowd was great! Solid night all around! Congrats to Kristina on becoming official resident at Spundae and for the success of her and Randy's remix of CQ!!

the opening set on mainstage was good from what i remember, the night didnt start as slow as the others.

kristina came on and i loved it. in the silence and i think she played another old school classic.

johan didnt dissapoint although i wanted him to play a little harder but the guy didnt have the time. i had a talk with him after the set for a while about his music and all that and hes down to earth.

fei fei, sorry to say but i got a bit bored. maybe its cause of johan or maybe i was a bit tired but i felt like the set wasnt going nowhere. the energy level seemed similar from beginning to end.

kristina, thanks for the cd you gave, track 3 made my day as well as the last one and others.

ouch, they waited for you in the car. Have you no soul greg?!

I agree that this was another great night at Spundae! ...and Kristina's an official resident DJ there, now? She's traveling on, hope Sensation White or Dance Valley picks her up next!

I really appreciated Spundae's attention to the guest list line on Saturday night. One of the managers walks up to me before I could even reach the table and asked me who's gueslist I was on, giving me tickets right away when I said "Kristina's!" It really made up for the madness the night Blank & Jones were there.

Kristina's set was already going strong when I got there about 10:30 and it made me smile from ear to ear as usual! The clock struck midnight and after waiting a bit, Johan wasn't on yet. Was getting hungry, so I headed outside for a beef taco and almost walked right into Johan who had just entered the DJ booth (so I went back to the foor)!

He played from about 12:25 to 2:35 and spun an energetic mix of everything from Hard House to Trance. Somewhere in the middle, I remember hearing Nalin & Kane's "Beachball" followed by G&D "Arcadia," two excellent tracks. Johan's a very expressive DJ and the crowd really went off!

He walked out from the DJ booth after his set ended with a swarm of fans around. I've seen some other DJ's ignore everyone, or sign one or two autographs and then head straight for the exit, but not Johan! He very deliberately took every last picture with everyone who had a camera and signed all kinds of stuff. I wasn't going to bother him since there were so many people around, but ran into him later outside on the patio having some smokes. I shook his hand, thanked him for an excellent set, and wished that my friend was around to take a picture. No worries, though, we got some with him about 10 minutes later...he's really such a friendly, down to earth guy!

Little did I know that his set at Spundae was a warm-up for Avalon later that night (see Avalon review). Left shortly after Johan finished, since I went to see Rank 1 at Heaven the night before (see Heaven review) and my feet were like baked potatoes! Thanks to everyone for another incredible night!

Spundae rocked once again! Kristina's set kicked booty big time and even though I wanted to stay in the main room all night, I had to pay frequent visits to the back room to hear DJ R-man's set too. So many good tracks that had me dancing the night away.
Johan Gielen brought it on too! I've seen him spin a few times and he never disappoints.

CONGRATULATIONS Kristina Sky!!!

damn none of you probably notice that dj tarkan was in the other room. he's one of the best progressive house dj out there.

Thank you so much to those that came out to support once again on Saturday night & for all the great reviews, pics etc... I'll post all the pics and videos that have been sent to me, later this week.
Lastly, I would really like to thank Spundae for the Official Residency and of course for the celebratory champagne(they know me too well ) I was and am still, so honored to be a part of it all, and I would also like to thank them for all the support they have shown me. It is really nice to work with honest, hardworking people with VISION, who respect their employees and the clubbers that keep them in business. This is exactly where I wanted to be.
