Ultra '06, House Tent (Seb Fontaine?) tune id.
I'm fairly certain Seb Fontaine was up, though it was a long day and even longer week, and some time has passed since. Anyhow, I have little information to go on, aside from the fact that when he dropped this tune, and it kicked in after the breakdown, the place just exploded.
The tune (more of a house feel for sure) itself seemed fairly simple including the breakdown, which dropped most everything out aside from this seriously haunting electro/retro feeling melody. The notes in the melody were sustained only a short to medium length, nothing drawn out. The pattern was fairly simply as well, rising followed by a similar falling pattern. The thing that made the tune stand out really, was that two or three of those notes around the top of the pattern sounded just borderline out of key, due to some small pitch bend or very clever note/scale selection. The melody also appears to slow down and the notes more accentuated before the tune kicks back in.
The actual synth used for the notes, the sound, I think sounds similar to a mix of Armand Van Helden's "Sugar" but I am unable to find any very good samples of that with clear information on the specific mix. It definitely had potential for being an anthem of sorts because of it's unique, almost off key melody, and I'm certain I heard it elsewhere down there but just can't remember for the life of me. Maybe the AM only house night at Nocturnal.
It's a long shot with this little of info, I know. Maybe if anyone just has a tracklisting of his set, I could sort through and probably find it.
Cheers for any help. (P.S. Danny Tenaglia and Carl Cox were just unreal down there. I'd love to have a list of some of their tunes as well, heh, but I doubt I could mix them 1/10 as well. Or just a link to their sets, if they are available, just so I can relive the goodness. ^_^)
