Armin Van Buuren, the man behind Perpetuous Dreamer, Rising Star and Gimmick (for the househeads ) His hits such as Communication I and II, Sound of Goodbye, the soon to be Dust Wave and countless remix after remix have solidified him as one of the best trancers around. Not to mention his work with Tiesto as Alibi and Corsten for Exhale.

Johan Gielen is of the best trance DJs and producers around. His main alias Airscape has brought the trance scene to its knees with the smash hit L'Esperanza, Twisted, We Know What You Did (TE THEME) and his endless remixes including my favorite mix of Delerium - Silence. Along with partner, Svenson, Johan Gielen will be tearing up new trance for many years to come.

This is seriuously one of the hardest votes for me because I love all those dutch and belgian DJs. I think my vote has to be decided by the remixes cause the productions are equally amazing. My vote is for Johan Gielen.

It seems like everyone is sitting on a fence for this one.

of the two, I have only seen AvB live, and had an absolutely incredible time. However, I like Gielen sets better (of those I have downloaded), and I think that In Trance We Trust 4 (mixed by gielen) is a great trance compilation for its day.

If I had to choose, I would have to say Gielen by a millimeter in a 1000 kilometer race, very close.
