Hey, cool track

It sounds really dark and kind of reminds me of Astral Projection. What scale did you use? Minor? Major? Oriental? The basslines are very intrinsic, and definetly fit the theme of the song, and so is the percussion. Very crisp and clean.

hehehe thanks. the truth is that i am illiterate in musical theory. I dont really follow scales. i just start doing triads with a nice sounding pad. the first triad i did involves b d and f#. i alternated a lot from that point on. i didnt really expected it to sound psychadelic trance but it is rather dark. i wanted to add lyrics to this with a song i made regarding a person instrospecting into his being, as he sits on the floor in front of this huge building with this blue color, with which he painted its entire north wall with. (he paints walls as a living) the color of this french paint is blue # 13, hence the title. i really like the song but im not much of a singer... i could always narrate through it. thanks for the comment. its really encouraging

0:30 percussion is really heavy. Sounds like a hard techno track at 10 or 15 BPM slower. I like it.
0:55 the synth is kinda annoying because it's 1 semitone higher than where my brain wants it to be (which is playing the same note as the bassline). It's not HORRIBLE because you resolve this tension quickly enough, but I think it would be better melodically if you didn't have that dischord (or at least not for so long... you could make the note dischorded for a bar, then make it go down a semitone and sound good for a bar, and go back and forth, etc). It's hard to explain melodic crap over the net. Heheh.
1:10 starting to hear a melody. It's really cool.
1:40 the melody is really nice. Dirty sounding. Very cool. That acid-kinda thing takes away a lot of the attention. I'd make it quieter or EQ it a bit. It sounds cooler at 2:21 when it's filtered to a lower frequency. Maybe it shouldn't go so high earlier.
2:50 What's the deal with that soft little baby kick in the background? Am I supposed to dance, or not? Make up your mind about whether you want a kick here. I vote yes. Use the full kick.
3:05 I'm really liking the way all the sounds are coming together. The portamentos/pitch-slides on that bassy synth are really cool. I very much like.
3:35 full breakdown and the synths come in. Very very cool.
4:15 there are some high pitched synth things. They're ok... but they bug my ears.
4:40 I really really don't like what you did with the percussion. The highs are annoying... they detract from the great little melodies you have below. You should use something closer to the percussion that's in the track at 2:00. This totally kills the song for me. I'm really kinda disappointed.
5:30 better. The high things have gradually been killed. I like this track again. It's fantastic.
6:20 Why does it break down again here? The track had already been dying down for 30 seconds. If you're gonna do the post-climax break, put it either immediately after the climax, or don't do it at all. As a DJ, I can tell you that I'd start mixing in around 6:07. This sudden break during the outro would throw my transition off. I suggest you get rid of it or relocate it. The crowd stopped going nuts a while ago.
6:40 The rest of the outro is actually really cool. The lingering crash/kick at the end is not something I'd leaving playing during a set.

This is a really really good piece of work. It's EQed pretty nicely, it sounds original, and everything fits together well. But plz plz plz kill do something about the percussion at 4:35. I really can't say I like it at all. I would most definitely play this in my sets if that one little glitch was fixed. I beg you! I really want this tune! But I want it without those awful highs during the climax that sound like they're ripped from some hard techno or something.

well my speakers in my studio are kinda broken. but then when i listened to my track in my car at this portion of the song, almost got in a car accident as i had my fingers shoved in my ear temples. just kidding but defnitely see what you mean with good quality speakers. Its actually a chorused, reverbed, echoed white noise i did with a synth. ill fix it. and as far as the synth at 50 seconds, i just didnt know how to introduce the mofo, so i guess i got lazy. mmm and the end is easily changeable at the post break thingy. i just needed a change at that point.... (i listened to that part for 2 hours straight probably trying to do something magical with it, gave up on it), youll understand one walks blindfolded after hammering a song for 2 days or so. And yeah ill get rid of the wimpy kick prior the full break at 2:50. i just promised myself to study for this huge pathophysilogy test today.

i was wondering if the alteration between the melody from 1:25 to 1:53 wasnt too different from 1;53 to 2:20. I mean if the change wasnt too rough. Then i also thought of making this track 140. instead of 136 bpm. ill but them both up by sunday eveniing

No, the alteration is not too rough; people dancing won't even notice... subtle changes in melody like that are easily missed.

I wouldn't change the tempo to 140. Consider some similar tracks... I would be mixing this in a set with something like Purple Haze - Adrenaline, which is only 132.

I think you have to try DJing to become a really good producer... you learn to understand what works, what makes people go nuts, what tires people out, and what's easy to mix or sounds good when mixed. I definitely produce for the style in which I like to DJ.

OMG. I love it. Much improved. I listened 2 or 3 times. Still some comments, hopefully I'm not being too nitpicky.

Around 1:40... the synth sounds much better now that it's not so high.

3:20 So much darker and harder sounding! Such an improvement over the baby kick that was there before! It really makes a big difference!

3:50 The swell in those pads is just great!! I know you didn't change anything, but this is still really good!

4:40 It's better, but IMO it would be better if killed the white noise and those whooshey sound effects going on. They're fine for the build-up from like 4:25 to 4:35... but after the kick comes back in, they should just go away. There is so much going on below that I really want to hear. You fade the white noise out from about 5:03 to 5:31, yes? I think it's at the perfect level at about 5:16 - 5:18. If you got rid of the whooshes and kept the white noise, but used it at the level it's at around 5:16-5:18, then this would be a lot more pleasant. If your studio speakers are still broken, then you'll just have to trust me on this one!

6:07 I don't like how you've got a crash cymbal over and over again on the kicks slowly trailing off. I would change this back to how it was in the old version. There are 2 or 3 other places in the song where you have a crash cymbal like this (maybe I didn't notice before, or you added it). It's not horrible, but it kinda sticks out and makes the track sound less professional than it could.

6:21 It's better for mixing, but I feel like the synths go away a bit too suddenly. Maybe instead of cutting the synth straight out at 6:21, you could filter or fade it out over 6:21 - 6:36.

A few more things I notice. I really like this track, so I'm being as critical as I can.
- I can hear the synth stabs being faded in a little from 0:51 to 0:56. I think it would be better to bring it in after the downbeat at 0:56. It sounds awkward to have a new instrument come in at the END of a phrase. You could not play it at all before 0:56, start at about 30-40% volume at 0:56 (so it's very clear and obvious that something new has come in), and then fade in fully by 1:05 or so.

- I think the resonance/Q is just a little too high on the synth that comes in from 2:35 to 2:50. It sounds fine after 2:50, but there are a couple resonant notes around 2:42 or so that are really loud, when the lower fundamentals are within the band. You'll have people putting their fingers in their ears. You've got a similar (but less severe) problem at about 3:43. Maybe have the Q lower to start, but increase it to the level you've got it once the band goes past the lower frequencies so you can get more resonance in the higher overtones.

- At 4:34, the beat comes back in rather suddenly. I could have expected it to come in 4 or 8 bars later. It's fine, but generally it's a good idea to give the people listening some kind of clue that the kick is coming in RIGHT NOW. Maybe you could do something with those whooshes to bring it to more of a swell right before the beat drops, or bang a couple of snares during the last bar before it comes in. Just a suggestion; it's not vital.

Hey... definitely good work!! The beat rolls on well, nice melodies with a twist!! All the elements for a good track are included... the mixing is not perfect but pretty good. I think a guitar playing some chords would work really well at about 3:10, the idea just came to my head. The chord progression of the song is really cool!!

this sounds good right from the start, i love it!!!!!!!!!
it has a different bass set up, sounds kinda dark but then switches to light hearted . oh yeh and nice kick drum, kinda funky more than trancey though, on the brake now, hopein 4 it to change from the intro??? but it dos'nt. but still nice to listen 2. keep it up,
