Hi there, me and another person are starting our own internet radio station....which will be broadcasting with Shoutcast in 24kbps AAC+ format.......And we need Trance, Psytrance, house and Hardcore dj's.
So if you want a regular slot on EVOLUTION.FM, then make a 30 min demo then PM me. if you are good enough then you shall get a regular slot on this new station.
i need dj's from America or Canada....and Europe so as we can fill most of our time slots.
i know from taking part in the T.A mp3 mixes competitions that we have some excellent dj's on this forum....and hardware dj's also.
so we welcome hardware and software dj's to apply.
and in case anyone slates me for this i'm not trying to steal members.....but if anyone would like more info then please visit http://www.evolutionfm.org
MAC users can now stream to our server.....so MAC users are welcome too.

i like the idea, i would do it, but the only thing that hesitates me is the 24Kbps, from wut i know, thats a little low and music doesnt become joyful with that low quality.
no mean to disrespect

i have a shoutcast server from my hosting company.....i use traktor dj studio 3.......then i install winamp DSP plugin which hijacks my sound card output then encodes it to AAC+ format then it connects to my shoutcast server and the listeners connect to the server to listen to my live mix. you can also use hardware to do this by connecting your mixers master output to the line-in on your sound card and then the winamp DSP will hijack the line-in and stream this to the server.
the quality of AAC+ Format is equal to 192kbps mp3.
if you want to check the quality then i'll do a short stream just now....if you have winamp installed.
the url to connect is.... http://209.51.154.234:8000/listen.pls

Hello and thanks for the concern about the audio quality. But believe me I' a regular at their radio station and the audio quality that people will hear is around 192KB, so dont worry, its good.
But dont believe me tune in next wednesday around 8-10PM EST (GMT-4) and you can hear what I'm talking about.
By the way I'm DJ-Eros and my program is called "The Perfect Mix". You must seen it in the forum, becasue I post everytime I have a show or a new mix to share.
Anyone else interested.....i'm looking for dj's that can go "live"....we have enough recorded mixes......and to go live you need a fast internet connection and at least a 2.0ghz processor with at least 512mb of ram.
i would be interested, but who is going to listen at 24kbps ?

I'm not very hip on formats besides MP3 and OGG, but apparently AAC+ bitrates are quite different from most other types. I listen to EvolutionFM frequently and I can honestly say that it sounds just as good as other internet radio stations.

@ cryptic_reign.....as mrlachatte says he listens regularly.....and the quality will surprise you.....as it has surprised many people who ask the same question.....AAC+ format at 24kbps is equal to mp3 at 192kbps.......you should listen in sometime and see for yourself.
