i think a bio only helps if you have good credited releases already under ur belt, this shows the label that a) you already have a name for yourself, b) you showing them that ur established name has a better chance of making them money. (sad but true)
but really thats all sugar coating, they will look at ur track before they read anything. They are only interested in the producer of the track if ur track is worthy. So put ur efforts into making a memorable track that stands out from the rest, thats what will catch their attention.
good luck.

The labels from who I think the track would fit best. If they dont want to sign it I look further to less know labels, not that does labels arent any good some of them are working hard to set there name into the scene. But yes in the first place I try to get onto a more well-known label.

one more thing... do you send your demo to couple labels at the same time, or one by one and wait for reply?

Here's a question then sevenseas, what label do you consider having promoted your work best?

Well thats still a bit hard, is my work has yet to be released. But for now I would say Dark Noize, they do alot promotion, searching good people for a remix, signing away your tracks to compilations etc. If you wanna find out wich labels do good promotion, check alot of playlists and check juno.co.uk often to see wich label sells best.

Well that depends, when I listin to a finished tune I sometimes get the feeling that it would fit to a certain label. So I only send it to on particular label, but when I'm not quite shure about the style or if it's a more common style then I'll send it to several labels.
But be carefull, if you send out yoour track to a few labels and one label wants to sign it they say and you agree, at first. Dont try to loose them if you got word back from a better label cause this will be remembered by the label and... well you get the picture. So dont reply at once with "yes shure you can sign it!"
if you're expecting more labels to send back than dont reply at all.
