xone 92 question

i was just about to purchase the carl cox vestax mixer...

but i stumbled upon a xone92 that i may be able to get for a little less. the question i have about the xone, is that i want to know if it's possible to convert it into a rotary. i was thinking about purchasing this fader one, then buying a new face plate, and the rotary pots, and viola. rotary for me!

that's the main reason why i'm thinking about sticking w/vestax... i can use a rotary kit at home, and then slap on the faders when i take it to parties.

maybe i should exchange my stacey pullen/derrick may/claude young style fan-friends for tony humphries/frankie knuckles/louie vega style fan-friends so i can just buy a straight up rotary! =-)

thx

as far as i know your unable to convert it simply because they sell both versions. Again i could be wrong but its my impression that you either buy it linear or rotary

it's your mixer, screw em

i thought the same thing too when considering my new mixer, i know it's going to be rotary now for sure

don't care if i take it out and someone doesn't like the rotary pots, i paid over a grand, i get what i want, don't care about you

ive never heard of a conversion for the 92, but that doesnt mean it cant be done. id say get the rotary and if your friends dont like it fuck em. if they cant spin on a rotary then then need to learn.

i feel the same way about buying a mixer just for me.

but a bozak, or 1620le w/a couple of dopereals will end up costing me about 3500-4000 dollars. i can't afford that right now, nor do i want to go through the trouble of piecing it together little by little.

plus, my neighbor and i are team. he was kind enough to yank me out of my bedroom and throw me infront of crowd out in the desert. now we're organizing together, and have all the components of the sound system between us. so i need a mixer that will allow him to be him, and me to be me. i think the pmc-cx is probably the best i will be able to do in terms of soundquality/features/budget w/out having to go back to eating every other day just to scrap money together so we can have a mixer to use at parties and not have to bother w/renting/borrowing shitty djm's.

I too love the look of it, but haven't been fortunate enough to be able to actually use one.

Also, there aren't as many of them around as the 92's.. I'd go for the vestax every time!

i just got a pmc-37pro in the mail today... i totally forgot that bought it. after toying w/this thing for alittle bit, i may have second thoughts about the pmc-cx. especially if the eq on the pmc-cx sounds anything like pmc-37, i may have to just stick w/the pmc55.

i'm just now realizing how these mixers are truely completely different beasts, and i'm appreciating the pmc-55 a lot more.
