Re: Anyone get bored of their tracks?

Yea, I know this is why we all have this vinyl addiction. But money has been tight for me, and I stopped buying records for a while now. Because of my upcomming gig, I am listening over all of my tracks, and I just feel they are nothing really to DANCE to. You know? Maybe it's the fact that when I first got them, they seemed good and now they're outdated...anyways, looks like I'll have to be making a withdrawal from the bank!
Anyone else feel this way? That the tracks they bought, after being played a bit, get put to the back of the crate? |
Definitely! I definitely find myself playing my new tunes when i bought one or two. Having said that, i couldn't afford buyuing tunes weekly as you said yourself it hurts the pockets!
However, i'm in quite the opposite position at the moment! I'm actually finding it hard to choose which tunes to play right now as i just got Serato, obviously that's slightly off topic. But the ability to play any track you have is seriously fun. You get to mix songs you'd never have thought of mixing before!
Just my 2p.. Fingers crossed you get a nice sum of money to get some vinyl!

I think the more you hear a song, the more comfortable you are with it, and it doesn't seem that fresh anymore, so you don't feel that it's a danceable track. Maybe make a mix with all the records that you don't feel are good, I'm sure you will find something that you didn't hear before that will entice you again.
But I know it's hard to find good tracks in your record crate, cause you've heard them and mixed with them and feel like you drained every once of energy out of them. But keep digging, you may surprise yourself. Try different mixes of the song, even though you may not think it's good, it maybe a crowd pleaser to others.
