Unhappy Tennis : Still shocked bu this final....Nadal won again against Federer

Damn, what a final, 5 hours and 6 minutes for Rafael Nadal to beat again Roger Federer! The swiss player lead 4 games to 1 in the last set! and got 2 match points at 6 games to 5!
Nadal got a very strong mental and won, damn i am disappointed for Federer. Next time i hope he will beat him on clay, because he is obviously able to do it.

anyone watched this incredible match?

Federer's chances of beating Nadal on clay are about the same as Nadal's of beating federer on any other surface.

I partly disagree, well i would agree if you talked only about hard court, they are very close on clay and on hard court, but now i don't think Nadal would be close to win against Federer on grass. And neither on hard court at the US open.

We'll see, but it was very close, the mental of Nadal made the difference because Federer won more points then Nadal in the whole match.

My previous post meant that its next to impossible for federer to beat nadal on clay, just like it would be for nadal to beat federer on any other surface. Ofcourse, its just a figure of speech since nadal just beat federer in the dubai open this year which was a hard court surface i beleive.

Nadal's won a record tying 53 consecutive games on clay and will probably break it next week against hass. He also has a 5-1 record against federer which is a great acheivement given its against a man who lost just 3 matches this season, all of which have been to nadal.

Before the final of Monte Carlo I had the feeling that Roger could beat Nadal.

Before the final of Roma, I thought that Nadal would beat him because Roger 's match against Nalbandian was tough and long. I was really amazed to see Roger so good yesterday, and if he would have executed one more winner forehand or volley at 6 5 in the 5th he would have won.

So it is possible that Federer win Roland Garros, i believe it. Your opinion?

About 14 Months ago I would have agreed with you, because then there were a couple of matches Nadal could have beaten Federer on hard court but just didn't have the mental strength to finish him off. I think that's what's improved most about his game, his head.

I'm more interested to see the U.S. than the French to be honest. I don't think Federer can win the French and I also think there are alot of players other than Nadal who can win it. The U.S. I predict will be a Federer-Nadal final .

Well it will be interesting for sure if federer has some genuine competition but if you look at players who have dominated on clay in modern day tennis (Marcelo Rios, Bruguera, Kuerten etc), all of them have struggled immensely on other surfaces so history is definately against Nadal.

I havent really seen a lot of Nadal but that guy does pack on hell of a top spin but as of now, Federer is just to complete a player to be defeated and always seems to find his game in the grand slams. Wimbledon should be cancelled for the next 10 years.

In any case, as much as i respect Federer, I dont want him to win the french open just so he won't be one up on sampras but i can definately see him winning it at some point in his career.

to get above players like sampras & agassi, roger desperately needs to win at roland garros, however Nadal & a couple of others always seem to have his number on it. He's a great player, but it's good for him to still have goals after all he's done already
