Software Dj or Tables Dj?

Hello,
I am considering to get into the Dj scene, mainly to play my own tunes in my concerts, so, I am wondering, what is the best, to be a Dj with your laptop or with tables?
I would prefer to Dj with my laptop because it is to much easier to get the tunes, and etc, instead to buy alot of vinyls, besides I hate the hiss vinyls have, so, for example, if I buy a tune at beatport, can I use it into my sets? Or I have to pay for a special license?
Also, wich software would you recomended me for to be a PC Dj, and it's there any CD Dj tables on the market?
Thanks in advance.
Kopi =O.

I love that about vinyl! Probably one of my favourite parts about using vinyl over cd's. obviously not hisses and pops but just the natural sound of vinyl. It's warmth etc!

But obviously each to their own..

I'd go laptop if you're not really into it too much and just want to be able to play tunes out. But if you really want to learn the art of mixing songs together, choping them up. Creating a small journey sometimes.. lol Well then i'd get cdj's or vinyl decks.

Vinyl will cost you money! A lot of money!

Or you could use both... Serato or Final Scratch.

nelly

Well, I dont want to be a a full time Dj or a Pro Dj, I only want to play my tunes without have to sequence all live wich is very risky and complex, but sometimes to spin others tunes would be nice, about the licenses, if I get tunes from itunes for example, can I use them to spin?
Thanks btw .

Kopi as i know your a very good producer, i say that you shouldn't buy TT's as it limiting for what you want to do.

i reckon something like laptop and some cdj intergration will get you there!

check out something like pvd's setup it seems alright.

programs:

SSL
STANTON FS
Ableton
traktor dj studio 3

cdj's wise i think pioneer 1000 mk2 or 3 even the 800mk2. dennon has a really nice one out also, but that has a spinning platter i tend to like jog wheel better.

i really like the way pvd intergrated i think SSL and Ableton (he sync them up) so he can to live edits easier etc.

but definatly vinyl is not what you want anyway since your playing all your songs .

im pretty sure you can play your stuff you bought form i-tunes!

what mixer are you looking at buying also? cause you might need one.

I use Virtual DJ, a bit easier to use than Traktor. It's fairly simple, but gets the job done.
As far as controller, I use DAC-3 with mAudio soundcard in a Sony laptop.

So is it like Ableton a producing tool only? I thought mixing could also be done on Ableton...
