FortDax is no more, like everyone else.
| quote: | Saturday, May 06, 2006
le Fort? c'est *morte*...
(in my ears? felt's 'ferdinand magellan'. *sublime*)
...on this, the 6th day of may.
i'd like to take the opportunity to thank anyone who helped or simply told me that they'd been moved by the work, and to express my genuine wonderment at the fact that, yes, some of you liked it and took it into your lives & hearts. that's enough.
what's left? / where next?
firstly, the 'another nice mess' broadcast on may the 30th. there will be no more FortDax live shows.
following that, there's still the reissue of 'at bracken' to come. the form that this will take remains undecided, but chances are it will be available as a high-quality digital download rather than *an object* as such. all will become clear.
and following *that*, i'll most probably take the archival, 'missing', extended & previously unreleased material and make it all available from the fedge.net/fortdax site. i'll let you know when this has been organised, although frankly there's little point in my sitting on it for *too* much longer. it doesn't exactly mature with age...xxx
je regrette...
i would, as i believe i've mentioned before, like to have kept the 'FortDax' name for remix work alone. truth be told, despite the seeming popularity of the nathan fake episode, *no-one else wants a FD remix*. boo-fucking-hoo.
and then?...
well, with this drawing-of-the-line, this underscoring, i'm dismantling the Fort, and beginning to work under four (possibly five!) seperate pseudonyms in a variety of different genres. from my perspective this seems inevitable. as soon as there is any more information regarding these further directions, it will be available both here and on my homepage.
the interim?
A Simple Day Job. A Simple Day Job with no internet/email access, so please have patience as regards any correspondence. my response rate has tailed away and may have to be further curtailed in order that *i can actually get some new music made*. unless of course you're warp records, in which case expect a reply by first class post.
1000 MySpace profile viewers *can* be wrong...
but...YOU listened. and i'm bowled over by the fact that you did. *thank-you*. now see if you can secure tickets for 'celine & julie...' at the nft. you want epiphany? *there's* 'epiphany'.
goodnight, meg,
