Well the first tropical **edit storm forms and due to hit florida.....
well here we go again ...
| quote: | MIAMI (AP) -- A tropical depression is heading toward Florida, but it's not expected to become a hurricane.
It's the first of the 2006 Atlantic hurricane season, and it could become tropical storm Alberto.
The depression that formed today has maximum sustained winds near 35 miles-an-hour, just below the 39 mile-an-hour threshold for a tropical storm.
The first named storm of the season will be Alberto.
Over the next three days, the system is expected to move through the Yucatan Channel into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. It's then expected to head toward Florida, where it could make landfall
somewhere between South Florida and the western tip of the Panhandle by Tuesday. |
