Here's the scoop - as an aspiring producer, I had to dig through dozens of books, countless websites (this one included) for bits and pieces to understand how to put together a trance track.

It's a frustrating and daunting task - especially for those of us that are just starting out and are often stumped as to where start, how to glue all the elements together. Well, an answer to (at least my) prayers - Torsten Fassbender aka Wellenrausch has put together a book, showing how it's done. The kicker is not just a step-by-step guide but also CDs containing complete project for Cubase, Pro Tools, Nuendo, Logic, Digital Performer, Sonar, and Garage Band.

You get original song, remix, and dub on CD's so you can follow the examples along.

I don't know about you but to me - the value of the lesson is well worth the admission price ($80 + shipping/customs).

Oh, and folks - whether you like the track or not - don't look for fly in the ointment - take it for what it is - a lesson material. It may or may not fit your taste but I figure the lessons you learn will be applicable for any style of EDM you intend to produce.

I personally love the track - very '99-feeling, hands in the air (albeit a bit cheesy by today's standards), type of track. I've been listening to it repeatedly all day - love it!

Cool, what I will do then - once I got a list of folks who are interested, I'll be able to ask the publisher for discount - based on numbers we get. There was a thread about this book awhile ago and most people gave their own input on what they thought about the book and if it helped them in production or not. Personally I feel you learn through listening and analyzing the music. Just take a simple track and listen to all the different elements being played. I mean normally you got that noise sweep, offbeat hihat, 4x4 kick, bassline, tambourines, ride cymbal, maybe 16th note closed hat, and whatever else noises you plan on using. I think you could learn a lot just from asking on the forums. To some it might be repetitive, but analyzing the music can help you out a lot as wikkid said earlier. $80 is a steep price, but I suppose if you have the money go for it. It definitely can't hurt you.

I agree... but isn't that what this program is doing: guiding you through an entire track in every single nitty-gritty detail?

Hey... nice lesson mp3. The 99-00 era was when I started getting into trance and I was a noob back then (HA! still am) -- I feel like I missed alot .

Call me cynical, but this sounds suspiciously like a sales pitch. Do you work for this company or get some sort of kick back for selling these books?

i think it is a bit of a sales ptich, but only since hes trying to convince other people to buy the book so he can get it cheaper himself in a group buy..

anyways.. put me down on the list for considering the group buy.. let us know what he discount would be.

I would never buy a step by step guide on how to make anything.

cause in the end dont yo uwant to sound original or like some other guys band.

to make trance all you need are all a few things percussion,a sampler
drum machine bass player,sequencer and a host of synths.

and the only book you should buy is something about music therory unless you did not take that in college or high school all this guy is doing is making a profit from the book sales.



but yeah all trance is a melody ,some chords,filter movements,chord progressions and some fx .

but its the way you compose it and teweak that get the results for that killer trancet rack not buying the book.
