i agree with you on everything except where you said we created it... what would you call things or rather, how do you measure events/occurrences like the evolution of the cosmos, the evolution of man if time does not exist? just, change? but the change is a progression over a certain period, with which we must measure with time? 
edit: the french invented a new System of timing in the 1800s (or 1700s? sorry, but mah head asplode atm) but that didn't invent a new time continuum.. it was always there, they just compartmentalized it a different way..
