Perfecto Records - the end of a label?

Used to be a prolific trance label back in the day and now it seems to be dead? They've finally got their website sorted out: perfectorecords.com but there ain't a whole lot going on there.

Last year there was Perfecto Presents... The Club, which comes across as a sorry retread of some old Perfecto tuneage, has Paul Oakenfold gone into retirement as a producer or what? If not Oakenfold, then is there someone else who can take Perfecto forward?

The impression I'm getting from these boards is that he's not that motivated as a DJ anymore, anyone care to shed any light on this?

I came across Perfecto Presents...Ibiza yesterday when going through my CDs at home, I still really like the Perfecto sound, had some great trance releases.

will be releasing some new stuff in the future including *i believe* "a lively mind" over in the UK... they have a *few* releases over the past year, but nothing to write home about as a label... no where near what they once were.

i believe oakey is busy doing other stuff including scoring films, djing, etc. he's still producing... has a new artist album coming out later this month titled "a lively mind" as well as a bunch of remixes that will be coming out over the months...

shit happens.

Why did it have to die though? It's not simply a casualty of the decline of the trance scene since, 2002/2003/whenever, they just seemed to stop putting out the releases.

At the very least Perfecto should make an effort to put their back catalogue up as digital releases.

they pretty much went to shit when BT left. although they had a few nice releases after that..it was nothing like the older stuff coming from them. im still a sucker for anything with the Perfecto name attatched to it though

I think "The Club" was their first release since something like 2002. So it's more alive now with the release of his new album than the last few years, that's for sure.

I was thinking about that the other day... they definitely should consider that...

What was their last really good release? Their old stuff was usually great, but by the end of the 90's it went quickly downhill.
