Besides accumulating material goods and doing things to gratify yourself do you do anything else meaningful? If you died tomorrow what would you have to show for your existents on this planet? I'm not saying I'm any better. Actually the older you get the more meaningless life looks. You get to see the whole cycle of ppl born, growing up, working, getting married, buying a house, having kids etc. When your younger you don't have the time to reflect of the grand scheme of things. Your more concerned with making your way in the world. Self-preservation can't fulfill your inner needs. Can't help but wonder if there is any more than this.

i work at a grocery store and at the age of 17 i believe ive realized this.
