What software to do a re edit with?

what software would you reccomend using to do some re edits of songs with? I have adobe audition but i dont like it and my re edits come out sounding really bad. So is there any other software you would recommend? Thanks

Pro Tools.

It really excells at audio only manipulation.

The only snag is you need a Digidesign blessed "Core" device. These start out expensive and rapidly head north into silly money.

If you want to do simple edits then get yourself a second hand Audio media 3 which should come with the software and is a very viable solution for this kind of work. No one really wants them so they're cheap as chips..

Cubase/Nuendo can be rather nice. Like protools it can do great Audio Editing, along with tempo. Tap your tempo of your track, and audio edits will be a lot nicer, and so will your fades etc.

ProTools is really nice, thanks to features like Beatdetective and a nice grid editing features, BUT. You have to have a chunk of hardware in order to use their software.

I have an MBox 1.0 I'm going to sell as soon as I buy my 192HD. But at the moment, until I get the dough I'm stuck with the Mbox.

I prefer NUENDO though. Which is 3grand, but you can use it with ANY hardware audio interface. Stienberg doesn't fuck you in that way like DigiDUHsign does.

And what about Ableton LIVE? I think this will be the best choice.

Albeton LIVE is good if you want it to be. The software doesn't really limit you. However I don't prefer albeton for edits or sequencing. I love recording my sets with it, and doing live stuff.

But serious editing is left to the big boys for me anyway. Nuendo/ProTools, and the like. Albeton is too pretty to be usefull. J/K. But it gets enough over-hype as it is.
