Yeah, read about Judge Jules's Melbourne gig on TS earlier today.
Wasn't he here fairly recently? Like 6 months ago or something? Bah, either way, I'm going to have to go with what ascension said in the other thread: the guy seems like a bit of a Radio 1 puppet with an attitude problem and sod-all originality in track selection (erm, well he didn't say that, but yeah). Expect him to drop Resurrection, Hide U, Rapture and anything else that's found its way onto the Nova playlist recently......
Haha, god I'm a prick. Nah, well he's not my cup of tea, but I doubt he's as bad as I'm making him out to be. Good deejaying technique, solid mixer and quite capable of getting the crowd going apparently. I won't be going, but depending on the cost of the tickets I may have to give it a second thought.

Don't get me wrong trancilvania, I don't think he's a bad dj. Like I said before, from what I've heard from him (i.e. two or three live sets ) and what I've heard about him, he does know his stuff, he can mix and he knows how to move a room. My gripe isn't with his djing technique though, it's how he lets it go to waste. He plays (again, admittedly only really going from what little I've heard from him) a fairly unoriginal and very commercialised mix of music. Now I can live with commercial music - I can go to a commercial club and stil have fun (after about 12 beers anyway ) - but it doesn't mean I'd want to go and pay $50 for the privilage of seeing him, especially when there are so many better, more unique international dj's who have come/are still coming out here (and that's not even including Two Tribes).
I think the point I'm trying to make is that Judge Jules does not rank as one of my favourite personalities, and nothing but an obscenely low entry fee would make me want to go and see him. Again, each to their own, I don't have any problem with people enjoying the music that he plays, and I'll say it again: he's a fine dj. But, as I implied in my tongue-in-cheek post before, his slightly predictable and very commercial track-selection turns me off wanting to pay any money at all to go and see him.
And, if you disgree, then that's fine. Each to their own dude: if you like him, then by all means ignore everything I just said and enjoy the music for what it is. Who cares what a twat like me thinks anyway?
