Derick H Bio:
This fresh new voice is that of Derick H. Hailing from the neighbourhoods of Toronto, DH was introduced to music since birth. Surrounded by the strings of his father's guitar, and the melodic sounds of local choirs, this seasoned artist began writing and producing his own music as a teenager. With that experience and talent, DH was able to create a buzz in the underground scene. His first single, "Everybody", found its way as a "Leather Ball/ Black and Blue" exclusive live performance. With some newfound local exposure , DH caught the attention of DJ/Producer Mark Anthony. From their initial meeting, these two artists have been creating unforgettable pieces together. In 2002, the duo collaborated on 2 singles (Runaway and Set Me Free) for the producer's critically acclaimed album, Ritual. "Runaway", which was the first track released off the Ritual album, found its way to CBC radio's top ten list. "Runaway"'s success doesn't end there. In October of that same year, the song could be heard as the opening piece for the world famous Black and Blue event. Now already a B&B favourite, DH will see his hit song, "Treat Me Right", added to the event's compilation CD, which was later released by Master Beat. Currently working on his first solo project, DH is a name that is gaining popularity in the pop commercial and dance scenes. His style, which is a blend of new age, retro 80's and dance, is reminescent of Depeche Mode and the Cure. Stay tuned for DH's next self-produced single that will be out soon... Bio by: Jenny Peoples
