Idea Could I use "Radio Remix" instead of "Remix Edit"? What do you all think?

Hi,

When a remixer is also asked to do a radio version, it is often called "Remix Edit", which sounds a bit clumsy, don't you agree?

I am looking for a better alternative to use:

What do you think about "Radio Remix" or "Airplay Remix". Sounds better to me and it says in the naming that it's the remix to be played on the radio. Let me know if this could create any confusion!

What do you think? Please vote in the poll!

I want to know everybody's opinion before I start using it. Thanks!

You can have both your name, and an additional name to your remix. Like in "Markus Schulz Coldharbour Mix"

Airplay's radio (or any other word) remix, mix, edit or cut..

They're called radio edits because they're not remixes, they are shortened edited versions of the original..

"Radio Edit" is normally only used for the original artist.. am I talking about what if you're the REMIXER! and also are asked to do a radio edit!

If you don't use the word "Remix" in there somewhere you're not always gonna get the remix credits you deserve from media etc..

So.. Radio Remix or Airplay Remix would be a good choice? Thing is I have never seen it used on releases, so would it be a good idea to use those or not?!

Personally I don't like the sound or 'Radio Remix', I prefer 'Radio Edit' or 'Radio Mix' and like people have said before - get your name in there.

Faithless Insomnia has a radio edit, which is basically a cut down version of the original and the CEC radio mix which is a good bit different (and better IMO). Maybe that's why they are named differently, because one is a simple edit and one is more of a remix.

You could also get creative and think of something new and totally different.

I would still call it an edit unless it was significantly different.
