whether it is a set, album or a track; do you listen only to the latest releases or do you also include some older stuff to your playlists or maybe you are a person who only listen to music from the past (because todays music is poor)?

I listen mostly to the newest releases but when it gets boring I also listen to older stuff..

Yes, the age of the music is totally irrelevant and suffice to say, I'm not exactly sure why that matters in the slightest. Whatever I'm in the mood for or whatever I feel like listening to, I'll pop it in and play it, plain and simple. Age means nothing to me.

Good music is good music and that's all I'm concerned about regardless of whether something is 2-3 weeks old or 2-3 decades old, yet so many people seem to always forget that around here.

Depends what i'm in the mood for. Sometimes I'm into listening to old epic trance mixes from Armin, Tiesto, Ferry, George Acosta or others that I used to listen to a lot. Now I listen to melodic progressive releases on Beatport, and usually I look for newer releases, stuff released in the last two years. Occasionally I might find some older releases that I haven't heard before, but it's always nice to keep up to date IMO. I also pop in some old CDs of mine, stuff from the 90s and even today that isn't neccessarily trance. When I mix I try to put in a few older stuff with a few newer stuff, but one thing i've noticed, esp with Prog, is that even if the tune is from 2001 or 2002, it doesn't sound that much different from stuff in 2005 and 2006, so it works out without anything sticking out as sounding dated...

i just listen to whatever i feel like at the time, if i want to listen to trance , ill dig out some old stuff. for breaks and prog i like newer stuff

I gotta say, I find myself listening to older stuff ALOT more. nothing past the 80s but still relatively old. I also dont listen to much EDM on its own. I used to, but Ive gotten past that. I now only listen to sets (as background music usually) and actual (3-4 minute structured) 'songs'.

I do appreciate the good ol EDM tune if it has the substance to be listened to all the way through (i.e. Faithless - We Come One)

I listen to all kinds of music from all different eras. My collection is huge. I listen to whatever I want to at any time, from something really new to somthing ancient. I have a nice collection of the latest Trance and the classic stuff too. I have tons of new and old Techno and House along with a very nice collection of classic Rave and Acid stuff.

Depending on my mood I will listen to other music that is usually older and a lot of stuff I used to listen to before I got into the electronic dance stuff. Sometimes I'll listen to Classical that is super old or early Industrial or older Punk or Goth stuff or even pre rave-era dance music. It all just depends on my mood at the time. I'll sometimes listen to rock from the 60's or rock'n roll from the 50's too.

The other day I made a trance playlist on my computer and it consisted of 50% 2005, 2006 trance and 50% from the years before, all the way back to 1999. I found that after listening to the whole playlist it was a really enjoyable time just sitting there listening to good music, regardless of the date.

I'm still disapointed that big name DJ's don't throw in older songs in their sets more often. They seem to just throw new filler crap and it's boring when inbetween all of the GREAT new stuff they could have played GREAT older stuff and would have a COMPLETELY GREAT set, instead of a set with only moments of greatness.
