I am planning on moving to Fla this Fall cause I cant stand another Chicago winter.
My job/profession is computer tech and helpdesk
And I heard Orlando has a lot of tech jobs and is probably cheaper rent than Miami. But Im afraid the nightlife in orlando will be boring.
Are there good tech jobs in Miami? It seems like the rent is really high downtown.

I'm not sure about jobs, but I think overall the quality of life in Miami is better and generally more liberal than in Orlando. Also, the streets in Orlando are really messed up and you have to drive everywhere (i.e. more gas $). Plus, there's a tighter bible-belt-ish grip over Orlando, although it is the U.S. hub of amusement parks and you can find some cheap nice new places to live. I'm pretty sure the EDM scene is much larger in Miami but it's more expensive to live there (not sure where the cheap areas are). Shit, I'm probably not much help, but if this is temporary, I'd say look at it financially.

Miami is a HUGE distraction.
But plenty of Orlando/Tampa TA's come down to party with us for big events.

I love Miami, but rent is a bit expensive indeed and unless
you have a good paying job, you could see yourself saving pennies to buy Schlitz beer at times.
EDM scene is ok, but house is the main genre played, unless you really look out for trance/breaks.
Orlando has better tech jobs, that's for sure.
Mickey dont know shit about trance though

Do you like hip hop/top 40 clubs?
If so, go to O-town, theyve got plenty of them.

I would say Miami, cause orlando is just too small of a town for me to live in. At least Miami u can call a miny city. Esp the nightlife is alot better in Miami.

Maybe I exaggerated a little. I'm sure Orlando is not as bad as say Mississippi-Arkansas, but it's much more conservative compared to Miami. It's like comparing Sacramento (CA) to New York. Orlando is "clean" due to the huge influx of family tourists. I was just really bored when I was there for a month.
I think Orlando clubs close at 2-3am, but Miami clubs (and drinks???) stay open until 5am. It's only a 4 hour drive to Miami if you stay in Orlando though.
You can find good people in Orlando. I thought they were actually nicer than in Miami. I'd say compare rent on craigslist.com with Miami vs Orlando to get a ballpark figure of the rent difference between the two.
Since there's better tech jobs in Orlando, I'd say try it out and if you get bored then move out about year later. After all, it seems like everyone living there works at Disney/Universal/Blahblahtheme park. So compared to them, you'll likely be living well off.
