Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Not exactly what you'd call a haven or hot spot for good EDM. Hip-hop, rock and drum n bass usually call the shots around the strip in Las Olas.

Tonight, that was broken....by breaks...and some serious EDM, laid out by 2 big names in the business, BT (Brian Transeau) and South Florida legend Edgar V.

The club Revolution IS located where the now defunct but famous Chili Pepper once stood, and has 2 floors and reminded me of ICON in Orlando, only defintely a lot smaller. The crowd...um, tonight me Mel and I saw some of the weirdest characters around. Total sketchfest, to say the least.

The opening DJ(s) for the night were laying down some sick breaks from beginning to end. All very enjoyable stuff. Great warm up for BT...

And finally, the man came on. Started out with some proggish stuff, then started building up some serious momentum until the set was banging NASTY. This man has a serious level of energy, as Mel said, and awesome crowd interaction. I'll let Mel tell you what BT's favorite word is. Still, he was having a great time behind his Apple laptop. Too bad the Fort Lauderdale crowd is so shitty, but then again, all of us here in SoFLTA know that all too well, don't we?

His final three songs put a great smile on my face.

BT - Dreaming (????? remix) <- NASTY. Just NASTY. Never heard this mix in my entire life.
Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit (BK bootleg remix) <- This track got the crowd totally going.

Edgar came on and threw down a mixture of dirty, nasty breaks and others...as always he did a great job. He played a song or 2 Mel could ID.

I took a SHITload of pics and some videos, but I'll leave that for tomorrow because
1. I'm exhausted. 2. I'm hungry. 3. My right ear is ringing.

Hell, it was a great, fun night...Mel can fill in on the girl who took the spill and the rest of the shenanigans, as well.

I def had a blast. BT is amazing interracting with the crowd. One of the few dj's that makes me smile just by looking at him. He was having a blast up there constantly screaming WHAAAAAAATTUPPPPP!! \o/ with his hands in the air. He was non stop dancing, all raversish too. Jumping up and down. He even got so comfortable that the mother fuker threw his blue converse's out on the stage! haha.. like if he was at home or something.

Great Energy! Looked like a good work out too

Def on my list to see again.. Hopefully longer than 1 1/2 hours. The closer was Love Comes Again but WOW! Had to be the most fun I ever had listening to that song. It's great to see the man singing/screaming it.. and not being played by Tiesto!

He also played Deep Dish - Flashdance.. some remix cuz it was very rocky sounding.

Over all his songs kinda reminded me of the old BT - Never gonna come back down.. Lots of rockish/trance/breakbeat type of sound. Unique and GREAT!

Edgar.. you were awesome closing. I know you dropped an OLDSCHOOL breaks song from a Baby Anne cd or something cuz that song was the JAM! Can't remember the ID though... You are a great all around dj See you again later tonight !!!

i saw BT in detroit for memorial day weekend, he ripped it, reminded me alot of tiesto energy wise. glad you guys had fun, had i remembered i might have gone
