DJ Hyper last night @ touch
it's too bad that this went by largely unmentioned on this forum. It was a great show, and it doesn't seem like real quality breaks DJ's come to Houston that often. So for everyone who missed out, it was a hell of a show and you should have come
The only songs I recognized were a remix of Tomas Andersson - Washing Up (sounded like a breaks/re-edited version of the Tiga remix), and some of the rock stuff he played at the end (Hyper played RATM - Killing in the Name towards the very end along with some other non-electronic stuff). The whole set was badass, especially the beginning of it where he really just slaughtered the room.
If anyone recognized any other songs or has pictures/comments/opinions on the show, post them here.
About Touch itself, as it was my first time there...I didn't really like how there was a raised dance floor in the middle of the room. It was too small to really need to be segregated from the rest of the floor, too big and too low down to be like a platform for a few people to dance up on, and it really made moving around the room difficult. The sound wasn't nearly as loud as in other venues, but it was VERY clear. Drink prices were average, meaning way too expensive but you pay it anyway. It ended up working fine for a show like this but would have been a disaster for a more crowded night.
