Absynth 3

I just got Absynth 3. It has some really huge sounds. I did some searching in the forums and there doesn't seem to be much chatter on it.

For those of you that have it, how do you typically use it in your productions? After going through the presets, this seems like a good tool for effects and pads. However, I am a tweaker and like to make my own sounds too.

Thanks,
Adam

Ok im not gonna avoid the answer....im just gonna say it. Absynth 3 SUCKS!!!!

Prolly that one of the reason you dont hear so much about it. I guess just as my self, I expected more, and it sounds exacly like absynth 2....So its not a ground breaking supersaw trance synth.

I design patches myself, and I feel that this synth can do some funny little cute sounds, but if you want phat supersaws, and all these true trance sounds look elsewhere.

Anyway, thats just my view.

I really didn't buy Absynth for the supersaw sounds. I have other instruments to do that. I wanted it for effects and pads. That is where it excels, in my opinion. I'm really into creating my own patches as well so I think I can probably tweak some stuff out of this beast. Beside, I got it at a really good deal - $149 U.S.

It 'sucking' is not a psychological option for me right now I mean, I just got the darn thing

Someone out there has to like it and use it for trance.

lol adam that was the most ridiculous post ever. I hope you were kidding.

Anyways...David, I have Absynth 3 and am in love with it. I have the tutorial dvd and learned from those and this beastly machine can do everything. For one, it can create supersaws rather easily. Maybe you didn't "tweak" it good enough? If you want some amazing pads and atmospheric sounds, it does those like never before. With piping, multitap, echo, and even creating your own waveforms, you can modulate pretty much anything with whatever you want. Then you can add in your own wav files and modulate your sound with those! The possibilities are pretty much endless with this amazing synth. I just created a track entitled "Sunset Hill" that uses Absynth 3 with some samples I created. Also, it has a granular synthesis feature so that you don't have to worry about the pitch change problem when dealing with those long pads you love but they change semitone when you go up or down.

Add me on msn [email protected] if you want to talk about it.

absynth is very cool for some experimental stuff and sounds which make a tune more outstanding as they don't sound like all the other synths..

Thanks, guys!

Lindo, I'll have to get MSN installed on my PC.

I am assuming the tutorial DVD is worth the money then, right?

Absynth is one of the synths that I use. I love it. It has the most powerful evelope programming of any synth I have ever used. Absolutely ground breaking. Therefore, it is awsome for creating evolving atmospheres and pads. And anyone who doesn't think you can create great supersaws with it is a fool, (like they are very complex to program anyway lol). Absynth3 has a 'multi' mode for each of the 3 OSC which gives it more than enough OSC's to make very phat super saws. I would say Absynth is the best all rounded soft synth I've used.

ps. there is a Absynth user group at yahoo. I used to frequent it. The guy who programmed absynth used to be in there to answer questions as well which was very cool.

Absynth 3 is so good... it's EVIL!

I actually find it FAT and Juicy. The only thing I FECKING HATE about it is the fact that the interface is designed for aliens with a perfect, undistorted vision that can see individual specs in the Saturn rings from Earth... and I have relatively decent vision and good monitor. I need to dig around to see where I can customize the settings perhaps...

It is by playing Absynth I came to realize that I need to dump some of my hardware ROMplers and sub-par synths...

It's a great tool.
