Hello! [Review] Armin in the OC

Wow.. I am suprized that no one has started Armin in the OC review yet.

I get off work a little late and head to Downtown to get Ready at Mikes Place. Lindsy and Krister came over and we where soon off to Newport beach.
We get there a little after 9 and there is all ready a nice line forming at the door with a buch of TA's But by looking at the crowd it was diffent then the LA Crowd or SD crowd. Looking at the outfits and cars driving up and all ready parked it was deffently a OC crowd.

After we get our tickets we where in the door and to the bar in no time. The venue is actully pretty nice with a bigger dance floor then I expected. On the walls there where huge projections of the Dj booth that where mixing in with really cool visuals. The Vip and cabanas looked really nice too. It reminded me of club bed.. But instead of a bed there where places to sit.

The room started filling up pretty quickly so I Grabed Kris and got to the very front and center of the Dj booth. It was right there. Only a small rope and large candle holders put space between us and the Dj booth.
I tought Boris played a very nice opening set. It was a very nice warm up to Armin. The crowd really like Niklas hardings red Jewl and of chorse With out you near.

Once there was an Armin sighting in the club some of the focues went to the VIP area where Armin was at. I went over once while Kris saved my spot then I saved Kris's spot while she went over.

Armin took over the decks at 11(I think) To Be honest with you his Set started off really "slow" but then he picked it up a few notches. At frist there was a little room to move but not much... Then all of a sudden in middle of a track the sound goes compleatly out. The power shut off! Armin and the sound guys where really cool about it. Some times that happens. The crowed did not care or get mad.. we just kept cheering Armin on. This is the time that it got uber Crazy in the front. Every one started pushing to get closer to Armin and there was no where closer to go.

The music started up again and Armin placed a new track and started like nothing even happend. I am suck at ID's and miss ASOT due to work so I can not even begin to ID what Armin played. Some of the tracks where ehhh.. But a lot of them where amazing!!

During his set people he would sign autographs and read request or what not on cell phones. So I said to myself why not and asked him to play "Edge of Space" I knew he had to have that track. Well he did and I went compleatly nuts! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Edge of Space This was the highligh of my night.

With it being so Crazy in the front I had to brase myself a few times againt the CDJ's so I would not fall over. So many people where pushing. It got to the point where I all most could not take it any more. But stood my grownd since I had the best spot to see Armin. I also had to use my booty to push people back. I hate being mean.. but geese it was getting to packed and I was just not enjoying it that much.

During the set.. Boris hands me the Dutch socor flag. I figure out how it goes and got few of the girls that where in front of me to hold it up. We hand it to Armin and he does the same thing and hands it back.
So I kept it and figured why not... and got Armin to sign it for me! WOOT WOOT. One girl offered me $20 for it. I told her no! Now when I go out and see a Dj from Holand I am going to get them to sign it and I will put it on my wall.

Armin ends his set a little before 2 and we wanted 1 more. But due to the perments he could not play that one more even though he wanted too. As usual there was a mob of people that wanted to meet or get a picture for Armin. I was all ready done with the pushing so I stayed twords the back figuring that I would see him on Saturday

Over all I had a really great time in the OC at the new venue. It has a lot of potential to make something happen down there. The staff was really nice, the vissuals rock, and the sound was actully really clean for such a small room. It was really cool to be able to be that close to the Dj.

There was such an amazing TA turn out on Thursday. I even met some new ones With all my friends and TA's there I forgot that I was in the OC.

I took a lot of pictures!! I will post them soon

to be honest it was kind of cool that the breakers and sound when out intially during armin's set. not only was he so cool about it, but the crowd was even more amped and did not do the usual exit!!! everyone cheered armin one while he signed more autographs. this place has potential and i hope to see more high quality shows in OC

That looks like one of the WORST tracklistings ever.

Just when you think armin cant get any shittier!

I dont care what you guys say, at least Tiesto can pick decent tracks and have a nice flow to his sets. Armin has been dog shit in this area since mid 2004 or so.
