SPEED w/Benjamin Bates, Preach & DJ Lace @ MLC - June 24th

Twisted and TAZ present...

WHEN: Saturday, June 24th
WHERE: Maritime Labour Centre
-- 1880 Triumph Street - At the corner of Victoria and Triumph
-- Coat check and concession services available

THIS WILL BE A ONE ROOM SHOW... HEADLINING:

BENJAMIN BATES, UK
Benjamin Bates' DJ career got off to an early start when he was only 17 years old. In 1996 he became a resident at "de dansSalon" a club in his hometown Eindhoven. It was there in 1996 when he met current resident Marco V, who spotted Bates' talent, and invited him back to his studio for a tryout session... They have been producing music together ever since. In the first years they used project names like 8th Wonder, Out Of Grace and Southside Spinners, but things really took off when they started making music to enhance their deejay profiles. They started with Marco’s project in 2000 and created the first Benjamin Bates tracks two years later. In 2004 Benjamin released his first solo album, entitled ‘N.E.V.E.R.L.E.T.A.N.Y.T.H.I.N.G.K.I.L.L.T.H.E.P.L.E.A.S.U.R.E'.

Over the years, Benjamin Bates has played some of the most prestigious international gigs, including InnerCity, Mysteryland and Sensation White, and continues to play all over the world with a most impressive tour schedule. Get ready, as on June 24, Benjamin Bates will grace the decks in Vancouver, and perform an unforgettable set at the MLC.

PREACH, MONTREAL
Preach is one of the biggest producers of the last few years. Hailing from Montreal, Canada…DJ Preach is currently lapping up some seriously well deserved media attention from areas like the ever familiar Holland's Dance Valley Festival, Fraga’s Florida 135, and Barcelona’s D’Asco Festival to name a few. Noted for an ability to balance his own deep musical training with the ephemeral needs of the dance floor, Preach excels at injecting emotion and energy into the rhythmic, sometimes formulaic genre of techno music. Although he is only twenty-four years old, the ambitious, hard-working DJ, producer and label manager has become a key player in the continuing success of techno music in clubs and gatherings the world over. With a slew of critically acclaimed releases for respected techno imprints including BLACKHOLE, IN CHARGE, INTEC, RELIC, SESSION, PRIMATE, ZYNC, SYMBOLISM, MBELEKTRONICS, ITURNEM, ASCEND and many more, Preach’s prolific production pace has allowed him to rise meteorically within the ranks of techno’s international elite.

DJ LACE

Where do we begin with DJ Lace? Let's start with his impressive resume - He's been a professional DJ since 1982, a professional studio engineer since 1988 and has released 20 records and 5 albums not to mention he's been a live PA innovator since 1995. Hell, he introduced Czech, T-Bone and Tripwire to music production and either co-engineered or produced there first record releases. -- Oh and you can add teaching Kevin Shiu how to DJ and gave him his first gig to that list as well. He's been dubbed as the "master of live Electronic" which explains why he is into his third year Trance residency at Club 812. We are excited to have this well accomplished DJ, Artist, Producer and overall pioneer and entertainer in Vancouver playing what clearly will be a Trance set like none of us have ever seen.

Not going anymore. Cheap tickets to this event were impossible to find. I searched and I searched. And if I couldn't find em, that means they were pre-sold.

Why bother?
