Techs? Pioneer? Newmark?

Those of you who use CD tables, I want to know your preference and why? I have cdj100 and am looking to finally upgrade. I am thinking about just moving to the cdj1000's, but wanted to know if anyone likes any other brand more.

I hate Dirk's Technics so stick to CDJs.

Wow, it's even projected onto his stuff. You're not enough to loathe alone, Dirk, now your property has to carry part of the load.

My preference is the CDJ 1000s. I've used them for 4 years now and for me, there is no comparison. That is not to say I can't achieve a good mix using the denons, numarks and technics before I have used them all before. The main factor for me would be that I have had the most hands on time with the cdj 1000s.

Now, with that said..since early 2004 I have rented them out and had nearly every last headliner I've had respect for play on them. After each set I asked them why they specifically ask for the CDJ 1000s or why they prefer them over the other makes/models. All of them stated their preference along the lines of function. While the decks do not do the mixing for you, it is easy to do what you need to do..if you know what your are doing. There was only only DJ, Mark Farina who said he preferred using the Technics decks because the feel was similar to vinyl. Which is also understandable.

Bottom line is that: Whatever feels the most comfortable to you and does the job, is the right choice.

Also don't look past the CDJ800 as they are about half the price of the 1000's and imo do not lack much in functionality (none that I need). They feel just the same as the CDJ1000.

Agreed. The only noticeable difference I've noticed is the jogwheel has less resistance/friction. This is not a drawback, just a difference in feel.

Yeah there is a slight difference there. But have you used the CDJ800 MK2? They feel more solid (the jogwheel), more like the 1000.
